Volada
The village is known from its stunning views of the sea and the bay of Pigadia.
On the green slopes of the mountains of Karpathos there are many traditional and well preserved houses and colorful buildings. Volada looks like a typical Greek mountain village, with many narrow streets, tavernas and great viewpoints. Near the village you can reach the highest point of Karpathos, Kali Limni (1215 m), and the separated settlement called Lastos. In the area are some ruins of ancient castles, built in different periods. The archeologists said that the oldest castle was built in the Bronze Age, and the youngest was built by the turks. From Volada starts many hiking trails that connect the nearby villages, Aperi, Othos and Pyles.
If you come here, enjoy the spectacular views, and take a walk among the traditional houses.
