Psoraris beach

Psoraris beach is one of the nearest beaches to Karpathos airport, located in the south, about 15 kilometers away from Pigadia.

To reach Psoraris beach in Karpathos island you have to drive in the direction of Diakoftis beach (Παραλία Διακοφτης), and when you leaved the asphalted road at the west end of the airport, you have arrived. Next to the dirt road there is a small parking lot for vehicles, from where you can easily walk down to the beach.

The nearest place to Psoraris beach is known as Michaliou Kipos beach (Paralia Michaliou, Παραλία Μιχαλιού), which is located just a few meters from this place, and these two looks like quite similiar.

The biggest difference among these beaches that Michaliou beach is slightly organized with some parasols and sunbeds, meanwhile Psoraris beach is usually not.

Psoraris beach is shallow and its seabed is sandy with pebbles and stones, surrounded by some sandstone cliffs. When you discover this area, take a look to these cliffs, because you can see fossilized shells in the walls.

In the area there are other interesting beaches of Karpathos island, which can be visited. From Psoraris beach you can discover Agrilaopotamos beach with its kitesurfers, the airport beaches, or the famous lagoon of Karpathos with shallow waters and turquoise sea colors, known as Diakoftis beach.
