Diving in Karpathos
Crystal clear water, vivid marine life and underwater caves attract hundreds of divers to Karpathos. Scuba diving is now allowed in all Greek seas, but around Karpathos there are many diving sites. The visibility is excellent, thanks to the clarity of the Aegean sea, making this one of the best spots in Greece for a great diving experience. The dive sites around the coasts of the island offer almost virgin diving conditions with many varieties of fishes. The best time to visit the diving sites is from May to late September.

Snorkeling is also a popular beach activity, especially in Karpathos island. Snorkeling requires no special training, just the ability to swim and be able to breathe through a snorkel. You can see many small fishes, kalamari, octoptus, and many other interesting underwater creatures. The best spots for the snorkel in Karpathos are the beaches with rocky seabeds, like Amoopi beach, Achata, and Apella beach.
