Potali beach of Karpathos (which can be find on maps as Paralia Potali or Παραλία Ποταλι in Greek) is a calm bay on the west coast of the island, located just about one kilometer from Kato Lefkos.
To access Potali beach you have to turn off the road which leads to Kato Lefkos, or just follow the coordinates below. Potali beach is one of the coastal areas of Lefkos, but it is further away from the center of the village, separated from the other bays.
The bay of Potali belongs to the midsize bays in Karpathos island with its length of 300 meters, and due for this feature it is almost never overcrowded.
Potali beach (Paralia Potali, Παραλία Ποταλι) is characterized by gray pebbles and coarse sand on some places, the sea deepens average. On both sides of the beach there are some rocks in the sea, but this is not one of the best snorkeling sites in Karpathos, because to the waves which are present here often.
Potali beach is a slightly organized area with a few parasols and sunbeds, and some tamarisk trees offer some natural shade behind the beach. Behind the beach there were built a few accommodations, which are recommended for those who like secluded places.
This calm bay is not as popular among tourists as other beaches of area, because most of the visitors of the area drive straight into Kato Lefkos, and they often forget about this interesting place.
