The small church of Finiki, known as Agios Nikolaos (Εκκλησία Άγιος Νικόλαος in Greek) is a small, but picturesque building on a hill.
If you visit Finiki village (Φοινίκι) in Karpathos island, you will meet at first sight with the typical church of village, because it was built in a hill above the port, and from the road which leads Finiki it is clearly visible.

About Agios Nikolaos church in Finiki
To reach the church of Agios Nikolaos (Εκκλησία Άγιος Νικόλαος) you can climb up some stairs from port of Finiki. The trail which lead here starts in a narrow alley behind some houses, but’s is very easy to find.

This Greek Orthodox church with its whitewashed walls offer panoramic views to Finiki village.

When its doors are open, inside the building you can see the typical arrangement of a small Orthodox church, with icons of Saints and gold plated objects.

When you visit Finiki (Φοινίκι), it’s worth to walk up to this church, because you can see quite different views to the village, to the port, to Finiki beach and further away you can see also the colourful houses of Arkasa (Arcesine).

In Finiki other interesting sights are the statue of Immacolata, which is a memorial of a boat and it’s passengers. On the streets you can see also the statue of Poseidon. The barren hills of Finiki hide a lot of caves also, one of these is located directly behind Agios Nikolaos church.
